Why NFC Cards Work

Tap. Review. Done. The most frictionless ask there is.

The Most Frictionless Possible Ask

NFC eliminates every barrier between 'yes, I'll leave a review' and the compose screen. Tap = Google review screen, immediately. No scanning, no typing, no navigating. In testing, NFC card taps convert to published reviews at 60–70% — the highest conversion rate of any review collection method.

🏢

Always On — No Staff Required

Place the card at your checkout counter, on tables, or near your exit. Customers see it, tap it, and leave a review without any staff involvement. Unlike verbal requests that require training and consistency, the card works 24/7 regardless of who's working.

📱

Works on All Modern Phones — No App

NFC is built into all iPhones from iPhone 7 onwards and the vast majority of Android phones made since 2016. Customers don't need to download anything — the phone simply detects the NFC chip and opens the review link in their browser or Google Maps app automatically.

🔄

One Card, Unlimited Taps

A single NFC review card has no tap limit — it works indefinitely. One card at your checkout can generate hundreds of reviews over its lifetime. For multiple locations or multiple touchpoints, order one card per location or station.

🃏

Physical = More Memorable

A physical card sitting on your counter is more noticeable than any digital request. Customers pick it up, read it, and interact with it physically — creating a tangible association with your business and a stronger memory of the review request compared to a message or email.

📊

Track Taps and Conversions

AmpliPulse tracks NFC tap events and correlates them with reviews received, giving you a conversion rate for each card location. This tells you which physical placement is generating the most reviews.

Step by Step

How to use your Google Review NFC card

1
Order Your Branded NFC Review Card
From the AmpliPulse dashboard, navigate to Reviews → Review Card. Configure your card: business name, logo, brand colour, and card style. Your review link is pre-programmed. Order directly from the AmpliPulse store.
2
Receive Your Card
Your branded NFC + QR review card arrives pre-programmed and ready to use. No setup required — the NFC chip is already linked to your Google review compose screen.
3
Place It at Your Highest-Traffic Touchpoints
Checkout counter (highest conversion), tables or seating areas, reception desk, near the exit, carried in your wallet for client meetings. Every placement is a continuous review collection point.
4
Introduce It to Customers Verbally (Optional)
When the moment is right: 'If you enjoyed today — you can tap this card with your phone and it takes you straight to our Google review page.' Staff introducing the card to customers significantly boosts conversion from the passive placement rate.
5
Monitor Performance
Check tap and conversion data in AmpliPulse. If a card location has low conversion, try moving it or having staff introduce it more actively.
6
Order Multiple Cards for Multiple Touchpoints
One card per location or one per high-traffic station. Volume of placement directly correlates with volume of reviews. Most businesses order 3–5 cards per location.

Each tool works best in a different context. Most businesses use all three in combination — the right tool at the right touchpoint maximises total monthly review volume.

FAQ

Google Review NFC card — every question answered.

Does NFC work on iPhones?
+
Yes — NFC is supported on all iPhones from the iPhone 7 (2016) onwards. On iPhone XS and later, NFC is always active — customers simply tap the card to their phone without any additional steps. On iPhone 7, 8, and X, customers may need to open the camera app first. All modern Android phones (2016+) support NFC natively.
What if a customer's phone doesn't support NFC?
+
Every NFC review card also has a QR code printed on it as a backup. Customers with older phones or phones with NFC disabled can scan the QR code with their camera app — it links to the exact same review compose screen. Both NFC and QR reach the same destination.
How long does an NFC card last?
+
Indefinitely — the NFC chip has no battery and no moving parts. It functions as long as the physical card isn't physically damaged or demagnetised by strong magnets (keep away from strong magnets). A card that gets minor surface wear will continue to function normally.
Can I update the review link on the card after ordering?
+
AmpliPulse programs NFC cards with a redirect URL that can be updated from your dashboard — meaning if your Google review link changes, the card automatically redirects to the new destination without any physical change to the card. Your existing cards remain valid indefinitely.
How many NFC cards should I order?
+
One per high-traffic review collection point. For most businesses: checkout counter (1), reception or waiting area (1), and one per location manager to carry to client meetings (1). Multi-location businesses typically order 3–5 cards per location.
Is ordering the NFC card included in my AmpliPulse plan?
+
The AmpliPulse NFC review card is available as an add-on product. Card design, programming, and AmpliPulse tracking are included — you pay for the physical card production and shipping. Growth and Agency plan subscribers receive a discount on card orders.
Can I see how many reviews the card is generating?
+
Yes — AmpliPulse tracks NFC tap events from your review cards and correlates them with reviews received, giving you an estimated conversion rate per card location. This data helps you optimise card placement for maximum review generation.
What's on the card — can I customise the design?
+
Standard cards include your business name, logo, and brand colour, with the NFC logo, QR code, and a call-to-action ('Tap or scan to leave a Google review'). Custom card designs (specific shapes, premium materials, foil finishes) are available on request for Agency plan customers.
